for optics measurement

spurious BLM trigger
- Optics measurements
ongoing during the squeeze. No beam form SPS (RF transmitter problem).

IP1/5 with beam 1 and beam 2

tunes and tune FB at the first squeeze point. Lost beam2.

OFB.

- Night: First global
aperture measurements and validation of controlled transverse blow-up for
loss maps and aperture measurements
- Ramped at 4 TeV.
Again glitch in safe beam flag after the end of the ramp. Beam 2 dumped.
- Problem with
extraction septum MSE.418 in SPS - no beam2 injection.
- 13:00 Ramp and
squeeze test with B1.
- 16:35
Beta*=0.6 m in IP1/5 with beam 1.
- 18:00 Beam
2 not yet available from SPS go for optics measurements at 60 cm on beam 1
only.
- 19:30 Optics
measurements at 60 cm completed.
- 20:00 No beam 2 form
SPS yet. ==> Setting-up of damper with nominal bunches. Transverse blow-up
setting-up for beam 2.

- Morning : Optics
measurements and corrections at 450 GeV. Beta-beating corrected to 5%.. In
parallel Q and Q' measurement setup.
- Afternoon: transfer
line steering with probe, BPM non-linearity scan in IR5, injection of
nominal bunch.
- Evening: reference
orbit with nominal bunch, BPM quality check, SIS orbit and COD interlock
tests at injection.
- 20:00 Test of
collimator setup with fast BLM acquisition.
- Night: BI shift

Wednesday 14th Mar
|
- Morning: machine
closed, cycle tests, MKI tests
- 15:30 SPS ready. LHC
completing MKI tests
- 17:30 Ready for
injection but problem with SPS extraction for beam 1 and SMP
distrribution.
- In parallel problem
with the extraction of B1 (kicker MKE6), traced to a problem with an
electronic card - replaced at 20:15, but new card has a problem and kick
delay is not correct.
- 21:30 MKE6 delay
problem solved - card configuration.
- 22:30 SMP problem
fixed - repeater added on the BA4 side to increase signal in CCR/BA3.
- 23:00 Injecting into
LHC.
- 23:40 B1 circulating.
- 00:30 B2 circulating.
- 01:00 Closed orbit
corrected on both beams. Correcting Q and Q'. RF capture.
- Overnight RF capture
tuning.
- 04:00 Start optics
measurements.
