Thursday 17th March
  • Test ramp for collimation energy interlocks
  • Morning: evaluation of the origin of the timing problem occurred over night and the implication on machine protection
  • 09:00 – 12:00 Dry ramp to validate energy and b* limit functions for collimators
  • Beam 1 not available from the SPS (steering issue in TT60-TI2)
  •  Beginning of the afternoon: decision to operate the machine with low intensity and progress with commissioning activities while waiting for deployment of new firmware for the timing distribution
  • 14:00-19:00: no beam  (BST, NFS, PS-Booster)
  • 19:00 - 03:00 Setting up of the ramp/collision to 1.38 TeV
  • 04:30 FIDEL tests at 450 GeV

  • 23:30 - 02:00 Ramp-Squeeze with damper ON and 3 on 3 bunches
  • 02:00 - 08:30 Stable beams 3 on 3
  • 08:30 - 12:30 Ramp - squeeze - collisions with 8 bunches on 8 bunches
  • RF-rephasing and other problems
  • 20:30 Ramp 32 x 32 bunches, lost in ramp, timing distribution problem

Tuesday 15th March 
  • 08:00 – 12:00: Machine protection checks without beam: BLMs/XPOC/IPOC
  • 12:00-16:30 Test ramp with 8 bunches (and 4 pilots) failed due to trip of trim quadrupole
  • 16:30-21:30 - MPS checks: –BLM tests with beam –D1 trip and protection by BLM –Dump BTV interlock tests –LSS interlocked BPMs
  • 21:30-23:30 Test ramp with 8 bunches failed again with trip of trim quadrupole even with lower gain of the transverse feedback
8:30 meeting 

Monday 14th March

  • 01h00: end of stable beams. Dump B2. H loss map and asynch . dump test.
  • 03h00: beam dump after ramp - one bunch in wrong bucket.
  • 05h10: stable beams fill 1615. 1 probe + 3 nominals, 2-2.5 um emittance, L ~ 1.5E30 cm-2s-1 ATLAS/CMS.
